Mobile App Store

The FeedHenry Mobile App Store provides end-users with the ability to install mobile apps, for iOS and Android, directly onto their mobile devices, via a mobile internet site.
This documentation discusses the Mobile App Store perspective, API access to this functionality is available via the Mobile App Store APIs.

If your domain administrator has configured a Mobile App Store for your domain, they will be able to give you the mobile Internet site address, normally something like: https://your_domain.feedhenry.com/store. Your domain administrator will also be able to give you the access details. They may have allowed access, to the Mobile App Store, using your Google account, an enterprise LDAP directory, or your FeedHenry App Studio user id and password.

When you browse to https://your_domain.feedhenry.com/store on your device, you will be presented with the login screen of the Mobile App Store, an example is shown below:

The login screen lists the name of the Mobile App Store and its icon, as setup by the administrator.
A list of authentication methods will be displayed. In the example Mobile App Store shown above, it's possible to login with Google or FeedHenry credentials, your domain administrator will be able to tell you which authentication method to choose. (If no authentication methods have been setup for the Mobile App Store by the administrator, it will not be possible to login, and the app store will not be available)

After logging in using one of the authentication policies (Google, LDAP, or FeedHenry) selected by your domain administrator, you will be presented with a list of apps appropriate for your
device.

Tapping on one of the applications, will display more information about the application, and also present an install button, which allows you to start the installation, of the application to the device, immediately.

There are several possibilites for iOS applications:

  • iPhone - can be installed on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad,
  • iPad - can be installed on iPad,
  • iOS - universal application which can be installed on iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad in one package.

Which option is presented for your device will depend on the package produced by the developer of the application, and also what your domain administrator has made available to you. The screen below shows options for install the iPhone or iPad versions of an application on an iPad.

If you are using an Android device, a single Android button will be displayed.

You can use the standard browser on your mobile device to use the Mobile App Store.

You can choose which apps to install, from the list that has been created by you domain administrator.
